The In Step

Our business began in 1947 in Trenton, NJ as Irv's Surplus Store. We evolved over the years from a footwear-oriented Army/Navy store to our current family shoe store incarnation. We moved to Summit Square Shopping Center in 1982 and changed our name to The In-Step. While we've modernized our name and our product line, we've kept our old-fashioned personalized service in tact.

Whether you're looking for walking sneakers or waterproof boots or the latest styles, The In-Step Family Shoe Store has shoes and sneakers for everyone, from infants' size "0" to men's size "16." We do a large portion of our business in wide widths. We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and we offer special discounts to our regular customers.
